Police and Emergency Vehicle Flasher Boards

I offer a variety of combinations of effects and LEDs that allow you to choose what you need to install in your scale vehicle. Prices are based on complexity of the board and the number and types of LEDs.

The Flasher Board is identical to my Special Effects Board listed elsewhere. It runs on 6v - 16 v DC (DC ONLY). The boards will drive any standard LED, but I provide one of the smaller (1206) SMD sizes to facilitate a wider range of installations. They come with 12" of wire soldered to the LED.

For N scale, the LEDs can be mounted directly on the roof of the car and look perfect. For most HO cars/fire trucks, (Boley, IHC) you will need to ream out the inside of the light bar with a Dremel tool, then use cyanoacrylate glue to secure the LEDs inside the light.

O scale and G scale modelers may want to substitute one of the standard size (T1) LEDs readily available on line or at Radio Shack.

EFFECTS

Old Style Single "Bubblegum"

For older style, single "bubble-gum machine" light on police cars. One LED provided. Note: On this board, a T1 LED, not a SMD LED is used. N scalers should request substitute SMD by email.

Dual Cop Strobe

For newer Strobe light bars. Strobe effect is continuous, with no pause between lights.Two LEDs provided.

Four LED Fire Truck

Provides Dual Strobe effect for cab light bar and alternating flashers for rear of truck. Four LEDs provided.

Athearn Fire Truck Light Kit

Specifically designed for the new, super detailed Athearn fire trucks. Has Dual Strobe for light bar, flashing rear tail lights, and continuous burn headlights. This is the board I use for the custom installations I do. Six LEDs provided.

LEDs

Boards can be ordered with 2 Red LEDs, 2 Blue LEDs, or one Blue and one Red. The Blue LEDs are expensive - $5.00 each and the price has to reflect that. If I can find a cheaper alternative, the price will come down.
